Dear North Jr. Families,
For those who do not know me, I am Marvin Smith, one of the two Assistant Principals. I would like to welcome you to another exciting school year. The 2024-2025 school year will be my first year working with the North attendance district and it has been nothing short of a pleasure. I want all of you to know how happy I am to be a part of the Husky family.
Before joining the North Jr. community, I served as the Assistant Principal at Washington Middle School for three years and worked at Lincoln School for eight years here in Evansville. Over the years, I have taught several subjects/grades, supported teachers with instruction, and coached different sports. I believe that all students deserve the opportunity to learn at a high level and feel as though they are welcome in the school community every day. With that in mind, I take pride in building relationships with students/families which is the key to academic success.
At North Jr., we believe in the power of collaboration and open communication. Parents, we encourage you to be active participants in your child’s education. Your involvement and support make a significant difference in your child’s academic achievements and overall development.
On a personal level, my family and I live in Newburgh. My wife and I have three children and two dogs. Throughout the fall and spring seasons, you will find me coaching or cheering on our children from the sidelines. We spend quite a bit of time enjoying outdoor activities. When we are not on the field, you will find me grilling or working on some type of home improvement project.
I hope to learn more about you all soon. Thank you for your support and commitment to our school. Let's make the upcoming academic year a successful experience for everyone.
Thank you,
Marvin Smith
Assistant Principal
